The Bangladesh E-commerce Seasonal Calendar for Ad Spend
When should you increase ad spend and when should you pull back? The Bangladesh market has a unique seasonal rhythm that every advertiser should know.
The Bangladesh e-commerce calendar is driven by cultural events, not Western holidays. Eid al-Fitr is the single biggest spending period of the year, with ad costs peaking 4 to 6 weeks before the festival as brands compete for attention.
Durga Puja drives significant spending in the Hindu community, particularly for fashion, gifts, and electronics. Pohela Boishakh (Bengali New Year) in April is another peak period for fashion and lifestyle brands.
The wedding season from November to February is a major driver for fashion, jewelry, and home goods. Ads during this period tend to have higher conversion rates because purchase intent is genuinely higher.
Ramadan is complex. While overall spending increases, daytime ad performance drops significantly because people are fasting. Shift your ad schedules to evening hours during Ramadan, and focus on food, fashion, and gift categories.
The key to seasonal success is preparation. Start building your audience lists 6 to 8 weeks before major events, test creative early, and have your tracking in place before the peak. Brands that wait until the event starts are competing against everyone else for the same audience at the highest prices.
